About Jockey Pump
The Jockey Pump, or Pressure Maintenance Pump, is a crucial component within the fire protection system. Its primary function is to maintain the desired static pressure within the fire network, effectively preventing the frequent, unnecessary starting of the larger, main fire pump. When minor pressure drops occur (e.g., due to small system leaks or routine testing), the jockey pump automatically activates to restore system pressure. This ensures that the high-powered main pump is reserved exclusively for activation during actual fire emergencies, maximizing system lifespan and readiness.
Specifications of Jockey Pumps:
Type: Vertical Multistage / Horizontal End Suction.
Operation: Automatic start/stop regulated by a precise pressure switch.
Capacity: Up to 455 LPM.
Speed: 2900 RPM (50 Hz)
Drive: Electric Motor
